asher, i love...

since asher was born, everyone i know (and don't know) who has grown children has told me to "enjoy this time because it goes SO fast..."  i'm glad so many people have said this to me because it has really stuck.  and already, just a little over 2 years into it, what they've said has proven true.  time is flying and my once tiny little baby is becoming all boy.  recently, i started writing a small tidbit about asher in a designated journal on most nights...just anything that he did or said or that i thought would be worth remembering in the future.  he changes everyday and it's already hard to remember some of the early stages with him.

so, for example...here are a few things i'm loving about my little man 2 year old these days...

asher, i love...
...how friendly you are and how you love people and notice them and want to know who they are.
...how you love books, stories and being read to over and over and over again.
...how you are obsessed with cell phones and remote controls and how you are on a quest to find every cell phone and remote control wherever we are.
...how you love your friends and talk about them.
...how you love church and love "worship time, gym time, snack time and craft time" in the nursery every week.
...how you ask to go to work with daddy on most days...
...and how you try to bring every toy you've played with during the day and excitedly tell daddy about everything you did the minute he walks into the door.
...how you love music and how you want to listen to andrew peterson, mute math or phil wickam everytime we are in the car.
...how you dance and jump and run around the house in circles.
...how you could swing for half a day if you were allowed.
...how you love being outdoors.
...your imagination and the stories you tell me about lions and tigers and dolphins.
...how you love to help.
...your silliness and how you love to be silly and laugh and love it when others are laughing and being silly with you.
...how you are so inclusive, how you want to make sure people aren't left out and that we are all together as a family as much as possible.
...how you love your whole family and love to talk about your harmony, grandpa, grandmere, granddad, imo, aunt, uncle, cousins and other family often.
...how you sing jesus loves me at the top of your lungs and how you love to sing.
...how you love going "out" and already seem to have a sense of adventure and a desire to do and see things.
...how you love figuring out how things work and want to figure out how your toys (and everything else for that matter) work almost as much as playing with the toys as they are intended.
...how God has made you and the person he continues to mold you into!
