i love these mamas

ashley, you were with us in spirit!  look, there's even a spot for you right between diane and joy. :)

i love these women.  these are the women i've been so blessed to spend most thursday mornings with since last fall (minus ashley, who couldn't make it -we missed you, ashley!).  these mamas and women who follow jesus have been such an encouragment and inspiration to me over these last 7 or 8 months.  i am so thankful for them and also for our church who organizes "real moms" and has cared for, challenged and encouraged us moms these last months while taking amazing care of our little ones in the process.
just for fun, this group represents 23 little people (ranging from 2 in the womb to 17 yrs old),  a range of ages among the moms that span about 10 years, women who have been school teachers, who do flamenco dancing, interior design, krav maga, mary kay, know a whole lot about british royalty, sing and play music, horseback riding, incredible planning, can work with numbers, run marathons, make art, write, minister to others, make awesome breakfast foods and make me laugh every week.
because of this time and group i've been able to be a part of, i'm further convinced (though in need of reminders) ...

~that being a mother is an amazing calling and gift...
~and that it is of eternal significance...
~that i'm not alone and that we are meant to do life and mothering in authentic community...
~that i/we need the body of Christ...
~that God has equipped me for the roles he's placed me in as a woman, wife and mother...
~that he's with me and for me...
~that i can add beauty to the world...
~that i might be replaced in many jobs and roles throughout life but that i am the only one who is asher's mother and matt's wife...
~and that God has chosen me for those specific roles/people...
nicole, sarah, jess, joy, nell, angela, amy, ashley and diane, i love you each so much and am grateful for the blessing of knowing you and having spent the last however many thursday mornings with you over breakfast, great speakers, laughter, discussion and prayer.  thanks for sharing your hearts, struggles, victories and walks with jesus so that i can see him better and grow not only as a mom and wife but as one who follows him.  so grateful.
