my little big boy

my little boy isn't a baby anymore.  somewhere along the way, he turned into a little boy.  a little boy whose latest shoe size makes me think his feet will be bigger than mine tomorrow.  a little boy who loves his cars, lines them up and races them and then races himself around the house in circles until he falls on the floor (for just 2 seconds, of course)..and there was a time when i couldn't even imagine him taking his first step...

he loves being read to and loves stories.  he memorizes them so he can "read" them and he makes his own stories up quite often these days...and i remember when we would hardly get through a tiny board book without  him losing interest...

and he is just so much fun -full of personality, imagination, concern for others, noise, movement and lots of laughter...

but we still get our snuggly little bear sometimes... :)

maybe i'm thinking about all of this so much because we are getting ready for a newborn and with that: getting tiny clothes ready, stocking up on diapers that are practically small enough to fit into my wallet and imagining having a baby who does little more than sleep and eat (at first)...

timmy tummy at 37 weeks

was asher really as small as timothy will be?  will timothy really grow into a little boy like asher? i'm so thankful for boys and this time in life with these two, in particular.
