3

our biggest little boy turned 3 yesterday.  how is that possible?  i'm so thankful for him and everyday of the last three years that we have been able to spend with him. yesterday, i was thinking about how crazy it is that it's been a little over three years since i started my job as a stay-at-home mama.  i'm so, so thankful for every minute i've been able to be home and watch my little baby grow into a little boy.  best. job. ever. and definitely the most challenging one i've ever had.  asher, we love you and love how God has made you. we love...

your imagination...
 your love for stories,
and how you constantly act out every story you hear or see,
and assign everyone in our family roles to play along...
how excited you are to play with your cars and trains,
and how you wake up running out to the playroom to get them almost every morning...
that you wanted to buy a goat and reindeer for jesus for his birthday this christmas...
how you will refuse to eat cookies but can eat a million strawberries...
your constant curiousity and determination to understand...
how silly you are,
and how you bring so much light-heartedness, fun and laughter into our home...
your friendly, inclusive spirit...
how well you observe the people you encounter...
how much you love mute math...
how you say asparagus (suh-para-gus)...
the ways you are growing as a big brother...
how honest you are...
and how you have overcome fears...
the songs and stories you create...
that your favorite foods are sushi, pizza and strawberries...
your love for family and friends...
your constant desire to help others...

you have forever changed our lives.  you have pulled our hearts out into the wide open world and we will never be the same because of it.  happy 3rd birthday to our sweet asher james!
