dedicating timothy

this past mother's day, we had the honor of dedicating our little timothy to God and commit to raising him in an environment that will introduce him to Jesus and teach him to follow after Jesus with his whole heart.  it was a special moment and we are so thankful for our church home and family that's come alongside of us in this commitment.  and we are also so thankful to God for the high-calling (and adventure) of being parents to such big treasures.
we are all mostly looking toward the camera -it's a miracle!  asher is smiling with
the smile he practised in the mirror the day before this was taken.  so cute.
our church provided a photographer (todd mewhinney -who volunteered to shoot for free) to capture all the families who were dedicating their littles.  pictures with all four of us seem pretty much impossible these days, so that was a huge gift.  thank you, grace and todd!

the following portions of deuteronomy 6 were read as we made our dedication vows:

listen, o israel! (listen, parents at grace) the Lord is our God, the Lord alone. and you must love the Lord your God with all of your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. and you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that i am giving you today
repeat them (the commands of scripture) again and again to your children. talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
